How to select data range for comparison (Year to date)

Hi,

I have a table with a data column "Date"  for 2015 and 2016 data info.

How can i make a Year to date comparison??

As in i select a date range from 01 Jan to 15 Jan.

So i can do a Ytd % change comparison .

See the attached sample, the Jan comparison is not correct because in 2015 the data is in whole month
