Input Box Look and Feel

Hi I am trying to create a Input Box but there are 3 buttons inside the box which is kind of killing the look of the design. I saw some examples in the forum and it looks like the way it looks in their system is much different from how it looks when I create a Input Box. I have attached a image. There are 3 buttons how do I hide them or get rid of them.

Please help.
