While trying to install the x64 SR4 version (now there is a SR1 on the machine) the setup crashes after the first 'Next' screen ...
The only error is Installation ended prematurely because of an error.

I have W7/64 and V9/SR4 running on my machine, must be an issue with your environment.

Try to uninstall SR1 before installing SR4. In fact SR4 is not able to deal with previous installations automatically (don't know whether it's a bug or a feature, even support couldn't tell me) - usually you should get a message to uninstall, but perhaps with x64 they even forgot the message 😉 .. Perhaps it has something to do with it.

i just now install QV 9 ( SR4 ) on windows 7 Ultimate x64 and work fine with me.
try to uninstall the old version and install the new one it should work fine with you.
The deInstall didn't run either, i manually removed the directories, every entry of QlikView / qlikTech in the registry.
Now i'm nog even capable of installign SR3 / SR2 / SR1 ...
Superb situation, no more QV on my dev machine ....

And the main problem for me is that i don't know where the installation log file is, can't find one.
There i could maybe start looking foir what's wrong with my environment ....
I'd suggest you make a support call.
