Load data according to selections, is it possible?

Hello,

I hear a rumor that is possible to load data 'on the fly', is it possible? 

First, what 'on the fly' means? -> Imagine you've read a qvd with 100M rows. All of these rows are loaded on memory. So, the 'on the fly' reffers to a functionality where qlikview would load into memory only the portion of the data according to the filters you've selected. Hence, enhancing performance.

I'd like to know if it is possible, because would be a great relief for my large data applications

I think you are looking for the feature called 'direct discovery' in QV. Search the forum, there should be some threads available with detailed explanations.

Just to say:

You may be slightly disappointed when you start to play with very large amount of data.

Querying on the fly takes time..
