Macro's for ajax

I'm needing to write an export to excel macro for ajax. I'm running server 8.5. It's to my understanding i need to use JavaScript which is ok. However, do i just write it in the module area as normal or are their extra procedures that are needed to make something like this work?

Also, I'd appreciate any examples that anybody has.

In the QV reference manual for version 9, check chapter 30, page 337.

It shows the limitations of macros in the ajax client, doesn't look like javascript is your answer either. Check the example on page 339.
