OLEDB or ODBC ?

Hello,

I've newbie questions about connexions on Databases (Oracle, SQL Server) with QlikView

1) I often have the choice between ODBC and OLEDB for the same database. What are the differences ? OLEDB seems to be more recent so I suppose it's better (in terms of speed?, functionnalities ?)??

2) I've read that OLEDB should be replaced by .Net drivers. Is QlikView already manage that kind of drivers ? Will it be managed in next release ?

Thanks for your help

Regards

OLE DB (Object Linking and Embedding, Database, sometimes written as OLEDB or OLE-DB) is an API designed by Microsoft for accessing different types of data stored in a uniform manner. It is a set of interfaces implemented using the Component Object Model (COM); it is otherwise unrelated to OLE. It was designed as a higher-level replacement for, and successor to, ODBC, extending its feature set to support a wider variety of non-relational databases, such as object databases and spreadsheets that do not necessarily implement SQL.

I've used both conections and I didn't see any differences in performance, speed, etc.

Best regards.
