Its 3 tier architecture.

OleDB Consumer(Applicaion) --> OleDB Provider --> Data Source.

I don't think so, either 2 or 3 tire architecture are relevant to qv project architecture,

and oledb is a connection to fetch data from source application to qlikview,in other we can use this connection in both the tires.
