Pulling Beginning Fiscal Year / End Dates from SAP.

Prior to pulling my transactional data from SAP, I want to pull the Fiscal Year Begin and End Date to use as my Variables to pull the transaction data.    Our system is not using the TVARVC table to store this information so I have to pull it from a function module that would pull from the T009 tables.    Or is there some easier way to get the current Fiscal Dates from SAP.

If function module is your only way you can try to extract it's results with the QV BAPI Connector
