Qlikview Engine Settings

Please can someone explain what the following settings are for and how they affect the qlikview system? We have a problem whereby our qvw requests are queuing - i.e. one use makes a selection and if the progress bar is displayed other users cannot run a significant selection on any other qvw until the progress bar disappears and I wonder if these settings will bear any relation to this issue:
