Read Cubes from SAP BW

Hi all,

I need to read cubes from SAP BW, so I should use the QlikView Connector SAP Netweaver, but, I read the SAP BW Documentation and this provides a "Business Explorer OLE DB for OLAP Provider" for third party clients.

Can QlikView use this OLE DB without problems?

Hi,

If you already have Sap Connector, then you can use it to connect to BW.Current version for Sap Connector is 5.80 SR3

But the version of the environments of prospects don't allow the version 5.8, only 5.7 because they has BW - 7.0 and ECC 6.0..

and if I install the last version of connector I will need to transfer the requests again!

Yes, the manual is for version 5.8, but you should be able to follow it and make the connection to BW with version 5.7

Connecting directly to a cube can be done using the SAP OLAP Connector (although I would recommend extracting query data and not the whole cube).

Anyway, connecting via OLE DB (without the SAP connector) can be done if you basis team will approve it - but you will be able to extract only tables which may be difficult in case of infocubes.
