Server migration from VM to Physical and XML to SQL Server

We are migrating our production QlikView server from a VM environment to a physical server. When the applications were written they used an XML repository rather than a SQLServer database.  Does anyone have any experience migrating from XML repository  in a VM environment to Sql Server for the database on hardware?
