Services are down in server

Hi,

Can anybody give a proper reason why services in server goes down sometimes ?

Restarting the services solves the issue often but as I work on a live database, restarting server and services are not very preffered solutions. Root cause analysis is required.

Can anybody suggest where all I need to check, what can be the probable reason or what can be the solution ?

Whenever QVS needs to be restarted, QMC shows that the services are down.

However, from the services , we do not see them down.

We simply, stop and start them or restart them.

I could not decipher from the logs why the services went down.

Please help.
