Hello All,
Potentially a daft question, but is it possible to put a tooltip on a dimension? My thinking, is that I would have a pivot table, and the dimension would be some abbreviations... What I would like, is when the user hovered over the value, it would show the full name (which is held in another field).
Any ideas?
Kind Regards,
Dayna
Hi Dayna,
There is no option as such, in these cases I use the Help textbox in the Caption tab of the chart properties to specify every column. Yes, it's not so intuitive, but the "?" icon is something the users should be familiar with. You don't even have to click on the help icon, hovering will show all the text.
Another option is to create transparent textboxes in a design layer at the top that will show the text when hovering with the mouse, but depending on the chart and the type of clients (Ajax, Plugin) that can result very hard to work and very poor from the UI perspective.
Hope that helps.
Miguel
HI,
Yes this is possible with QlikView 11.

Hi Dayna,
You can set apart from the label a comment (if you are using version 11). That comment will show up whenever you hover the mouse over the name of the column in the chart, displaying the label (if set) and the comment in the next line.
Hope that helps.

Ah, I thought it would be simple... Unfortunately I'm still on 10
is there an option within v10?
Kind Regards,
Dayna
