Understanding the Data Model

Hello! I'm new to QlikView and I have the following question:

I've been given a project about market stuff with many tables and fields named with acronyms I can't figure out what could they be, like: ak, akcum, atd and many others, and then I have the project requirements, describing what information do they want to analyze.

I've asked to the customer who told me to do this to send me a data dictionary, where I could find out what tables and fields do I need to work with, and also to see a description of every table and field in the dictionary to understand the data model and see what it is about.

Do you think that should do it?

You must know the model deeply, otherwise you will not be able to work with this model.
