Y axis value label format

For the life of me, I can't seem to get Y axis value labels to format per the expression.

For example, a simple bar chart with an expression =sum(Amount), with the Number Format Pattern set to Money $#,##0.00;($#,##0.00)

The values on the bar chart display properly as $20.43, $15.01, etc.

The Y-axis value labels always display as 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc.  I want them to display as $0.00, $10.00, $20.00, and so on.

Is this even possible?

you can define a Symbol (e.g.) which occurs at top of y axes

I would consider not to Show the y axes if I have the data onthe bar chart

So specifying the step MOSTLY forces the Y Axis labels to format per the expression.

Now I have to figure out how to calculate an appropriate step in all circumstances...   something that the QlikView Chart Engine already does, but I have to override it to get the formatting I want.  Lovely.
