obtain Implicit field type char or string

How can I obtain an IMPLICIT field which type is char or string for example in a text box?

Since it is easy, for exmample, to obtain the sum of an Implicit field when this field is numeric (Sum(<implicit field>).

But using only the name of the field will return the name of the field instead of their value.
