when defining a variable what is the difference between defining it with a starting "=" sign and defining it without putting an "=" sign?
sometimes the variable returns the same value with both definintions and sometimes the variable doesn't return anything if not preceeded with an "=" sign
If the first character of a variable value is an equals sign ' = ' QlikView will try to evaluate the value as a formula (QlikView expression) and then display or return the result rather than the actual formula text.
