There are a set of field functions in Qlik Sense that allow an app to view the number of filtered/selected items (e.g. GetSelectedCount, GetExcludedCount, etc) as well as functions which allow returning a list of which items have been filtered/selected (e.g. GetCurrentSelections). I would like an option to be able to set these as well as just read them.
Searching for this functionality there are lots of examples of people asking how to do it and while it seems it is possible in Qlik View it doesn't seem to be possible in Qlik Sense.
Currently I've been asked to put in an auto-filter so that when a user first enters the app they see reports filtered to their department but gives them the option to change this to either expand the selection or make a completely different one. Identifying the department from the user who has logged in is simple but I am unable to dynamically assign that filter to the app.
@UncleRiotous Sounds like that could be achieved with the sheet actions (April 2020) and the native button with actions, or are you missing something else? I have several apps that makes a personal selection first based on userid and then personal selection options triggered by buttons.
