Talend Data Catalog (TDC) - Displaying Semantic Types in

Hi there,

My question has multiple elements, depending on the level of functionality that is available.

  1. Is it possible to display and filter the Semantic Type assigned to Fields or Columns in a worksheet? I am unable to see this as a selectable Worksheet filter or column.
  2. If the answer to 1 is no, is it possible to do the same in a Worksheet for a term that is classified against a Field or Column, implicitly through a Semantic Type linked to a Term (assuming this is possible)
  3. Is it possible to display and filter the number of records for a table in a worksheet? I am unable to see this as a selectable Worksheet filter or column.
  4. Finally, assuming either 1 or 2 are possible, am I able to reflect the boolean presence of a certain Semantic type for a table or schema object, given that any of the child fields or columns have been identified with that Semantic type?

My organisation plans to use TDC to enrich metadata with Custom Attributes that reflect enterprise-specific classification of data. The assignment of a number of these classifications is driven by simple logical business rules. I believe that even if manually assigned, being able to bulk-assign Custom Attribute values through a Worksheet filtered on attributes identified with certain semantic types and/or classified terms, will be a suitable workflow.

Suggestions of any other little-known methods to achieve similar rule-based functionality would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

@davisa, i have consulted with our developers and has the following answers:
In 7.3 I created a worksheet and added Semantic Types to columns. You can click in a semantic type and right click to create a filter for a specific semantic type. In the filters section to the left you can filter further to only include certain objects. Semantic Types aren't associated with terms. You can then from that result set add the custom attribute and make a bulk edit to populate it. Not sure if that is quite what they want, but I know I can do it in 7.3. I believe it should work for 7.1.2. I think I would just have to walk them through it
