Count if distinct

Please advise,

                                     I have three columns A & B & C

In A, there is a list of areas, in B there are lists of users, in C there are lists of groups that user can be a part of.

I need a KPI to show the count of distinct users if I choose a particular area.

Have you tried - Count(Distinct B) ?                        // Assuming B column is users
