If you want only current year to start from May , rest all from Jan then u can use the expression as

=If([Retirement Year] = Year(Today()) , match([Retirement Month],'May','Jun','Jul','Aug','Sep','Oct','Nov','Dec','Jan','Feb','Mar','Apr'),

match([Retirement Month],'Jan','Feb','Mar','Apr','May','Jun','Jul','Aug','Sep','Oct','Nov','Dec'))
