What NUMBER_OF_CPUS;1;; in lef file means?

Hi all,

We have a QV Server installation with some performance issues, in the lef file we figure out that there is line which says NUMBER_OF_CPUS;1;;. Is there any chance that causes the performance issue? What this line actually means?

Regards,

Eleni

Hi Eleni,

I don't believe that this LEF provision would have any bearing on performance of the QV environment. Suggest that you ensure the QVS Events log are configured for High verbosity and review them for errors/warnings.

I was able to find the following from some internal documentation on LEF file contents:
A limit on number of CPUs. The has not been used since version 10. Last time used was in version 10 of both the Desktop and the Server. This attribute was also removed from any new license key as of November 2014.

You can check with your Qlik account manager about this LEF provision if you have more questions. Hope this helps.

Hi Eleni,

That is probably based on the license you have. For the QlikCoreLicense the number of CPU's is a part of the agreement. In that case the QlikEngine operates on 1 CPU. That can cause performance issues because every single calculation is done by one CPU and then there is no possibility to perform multiple task at once.

You can find more info about how the engine works here:
