Hi all!
I can't open qvw files generated on my machine. If I create a new QlikView document, load some data, place some objects, and then close and reopen the qvw file, I get something like "Access denied. File was created by an user with QlikView license, and as long as you're using a QlikView Personal Edition, you won't be able to open this file". I have no QlikView licenses. Have tried QlikView v11.00.11271.0 SR1 64-bit Edition on my desktop machine (running a 64-bit Windows 7) and 32-bit Edition on my netbook (running Windows XP). Fresh install on both cases (no older/same version installed before). Note I'm trying to reopen the file on the same machine. Any workaround?
Thanks in advance.
Answer to myself: deleting the -prj folder fixes the problem.

Hi jlsantana,
How did you delete the prj file? I'm running into an issue where I've got a new computer and can access my coworkers qvw files without any problems, but can't open my own files I've saved on my previous computer. I'm running Windows 8 and have Qlikview 11 newly installed.
Thanks in advance!
That sound quite odd... looks like some kind of bug...
I mean, How could a set of files inside a .prj directory prevent to open a .qvw file made on the same machine?
Nevertheless I have the same problem and I'm going to try this fix.
Hope that solve the problem.

Wow !
It really worked !! Removing the .prj directory allowed me to open the qvw file again.
If anyone know the reason I want to know it.
And BTW thanks jlsantana for the trick: it simply render Qlikview useful.

HI
can you explaine more about this?where is the loacation of .prj file?I have same problem
regards
Behnaz
Well .prj refers to a directory (instead of a file... my mistake):
I mean: If you named your document as Qdoc.qvw look at the folder in which you created it and you'll see a file named Qdoc.qvw along with a directory with name Qdoc-prj that is the -prj folder jlsantana refers as the one you need to delete in order to be able to open the Qdoc.qvw again once it is closed.
In fact you don't have to delete it; you can just rename it (_Qdoc-prj for example) to the same effect.
That's it.
J.
Thanks for your replay Jean
Are you using a Licensed version or Personal edition.
This issue is valid with Personal Edition but is this how we can overcome with the limitation ?
Hi Rohit,
I'm using personal edition so I suppose creating a qlikview document should be opened any time but that is not the case. As @jlsantana pointed out deleting the xxx-prj directory enables the opening of the document.
That's why I think this is some kind of bug in personal edition.
