Hi Geetha,

I’m not sure if there is direct way to add URL as Dimension. I’m sure you are aware that you can use the Representation as “URL” for expressions but for Dimensions we don’t have anything like that... however, that doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

Here is my solution and only issue with this approach is that you can’t make selection directly on the chart but you can place ListBoxor other QV Objects for user selections. However, if you wanted to allow users to select the chart then refer to Chart 2 where the text colour is White().

I’m attaching the QV document for your understanding.

How to do ?

  • All the steps are same as building expression as URL
  • Once I have my expression I’m hiding my Dimension and moving the URL column to extreme left hand side

I hope you this makes sense. And I hope this helps or let’s wait for other users to provide solution.

Good luck!

Cheers - DV

Hi DV,

Thanks for the idea, it sounds good.

My dimension is a part of cyclic dimension, so its like I do not have option to hide.

But if I can't come up with anyother way, then I think I should just retain the dimension and still add it as a expression and show it as hyperlink, wanted to check if there is a way to avoid duplicate display of the same information

Hi Geetha,

You are welcome. Please post a sample QV file and I can try with your QV document.

Have a good day.
