Quick Tips #1 - Use the Task Manager

This is the first posting of several with small Quick tips. They might be obvious to some but repetition doesn't hurt...

Use the Task Manager as a tool while you develop and test your applications, even on a 2-core laptop.

Go to the Performance tab and make sure that you see on graph per core of your machine. You can change this setting in View->CPU History->One Graph Per CPU.

Keep an eye on the graphs while you click in your application. If you see one core at 100% and the others almost inactive then you have one or more single-threaded calculations in your application.

More tips about single-threaded calculations and trouble shooting will be posted.

    Cheers from the Scalability Team.
