Hi everyone especially @michaeltarallo @mto who Tech Support referred me to post here tagging him after they said they are not sure what the issue is

Cannot get the newest version downloaded from the web site to install

I have tried lots of compatibility settings to no avail

I found a older version of the software that loads from a collages machine but during the upgrade that is prompted it uninstalls the software and errors out.

I am running windows 7 sp1 fully patched machine with .net 4.6.1

I am going to try and upload my log file to this post if it allows as it is 15 MB text file.

The issue was a default setting for my document redirection in the local registry found this on the site and tried it with success

https://community.qlik.com/thread/127287

1. Open regedit
2. Seach for HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
3. Change the path in "Personal" entry to a local path, but remember the old path!
4. Now you can install qlikview without an error.
5. Change the path in "Personal" to your old.
