Sort state on list box

Hi everyone,

I have one field and a sort field:

Field, SortOrder

a, 1

t, 2

c, 3

g, 4

I use Field as my list box and for Sort I put an expression as:

=[SortOrder]

The problem is that when I select something it automatically drops to the bottom.  If I deselect auto-ascending this doesn't fix it.

I know it's something simple I'm just missing!

Thanks

Gareth

Hi Gareth,

Please check sort by field with Load Order and select original in the drop down.  Also uncheck the Auto descending.

Is the sort priority set correctly?

If I remember correctly there was a bug with the sorting of listboxes when using the auto ascend and sorting by expression. You might want to check with QlikView support

Thanks for your suggestions the Load order is different to the order I want to have in my actual data.

e.g.:

Field, SortOrder

a, 1

t, 4

c, 3

g, 2

Sorry I selected a bad example.

As far as I can see there is no option to change the sort priority on list boxes.  That link to a dual load example is interesting and works for the list boxes but then causes major problems throughout the rest of my report so not really going to work for me.

What is wrong with it? - sample is attached

See how when you select one it jumps either to the top or the bottom?  I want the order to remain the same.  So if I select a I want it to remain a the top of the listbox.  If I select c I want it to remain in the 3rd position.

Thanks
