Talk to your partner about upgrading QlikView Server to an Enterprise Editiion license.
Only differences with SBE: DMS mode and no artificial limit on the number of possible Document & Named CALs
It is NOT possible to create a working Custom Directory if you don't have an Enterprise Edition license. The QMC however confusingly allows you to configure a Custom Directory connector and add users and groups to it, even with an SBE license. But it will not work.
Why not? Because an SBE license only lets you set permissions in NTFS (through NTFS security) and there is no connection between NTFS and your custom directory.
In other words, to get an operational Custom Directory, you need a custom permissions system. DMS is such a system. NTFS is not. NTFS only reognizes AD or Windows users.
