I'm installing QV Server v11 SR1. When I get to the step of entering the license in QMC, the 'Update' button is grayed out. I made sure that I have entered the required fields of Serial, Control, Name, and Organization, but the button remains gray. DSC and QVWS both have status of 'Disconnected' in the status tab.
The license number is valid, and this Windows session does have access to the internet (it's where I'm posting this note).
I tried disabling Windows UAC per another post, but that had no effect. I would appreciate advice and suggestions.

The LEF field is a possibility. Since QV Desktop was installed I would recommend doing a Windows uninstall of Desktop and deleting the ProgramData\QlikTech folder before installing the QV11 Server.
Have you dactivated the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration feature?
By default, Windows Server 2003 and 2008 ship with Internet Explorer in enhanced security configuration, which is basically a locked down version that adds a bit of extra security to your servers for Web Browsing. When Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration is enabled, it may create problems in viewing the management console and service content. You may be able to leave IE ESC on, but if you experience any issues, you will need to turn the feature off for the Administrators group.
Ralph, I don't think that Enhanced Security Configuration applies because I'm installing Server under Windows 7 Professional, not Windows Server. I'm learning server administration and this is a testing/development/learning environment.
QVS should be compatible with Win 7, isn't it?

James,
Yes, Windows 7 is supported.
Are all services installed on a single server (machine) ?
Did the services all start properly?
Did you install QlikView as an Administrator ?
All services were installed in a separate admin user account on one machine.
The services all start properly, per Windows control panel. However, their status in QMC is as follows:
DSC Disconnected
QVWS Disconnected
QVS Unlicensed
QMS Running
Is the separate admin user account part of the local group " Administrators"?
Did you "reboot" after the install? Sometimes this is needed. Was there an older version of QlikView on the server before this one?
Answers to your questions:
o The Windows admin account that I used to install QV Server is a member of the Administrators local group.
o The machine has been rebooted at least twice since the install. The first reboot was immediately after installing, per the reference manual.
o QlikView v11 sr1 desktop was already installed on the machine before installing QV Server. Would that impact Server?
One of my more experienced colleagues is going to look at this in an hour. I'll report back on what he suggests.

Hi James,
Did you fill the LEF field? Try opening this http://lef1.qliktech.com/manuallef/ in other machine with full internet access, fill the license, control and recover the LEF information. Then try to update, hope this help you.

Cesar and Ralph, I will try your suggestions and report on the results.
Thank you.
