how to open qvw file with latest year as selection

I have developed an application and now I want to get the current data to show up whenever I open my qvw file.like I was trying to get the latest year to show up but I am not able to get it.

I am going to document properties , under that I am going to triggers and in triggers I am selecting event trigger. i am using On open functionality and adding action through that for the latest year in field and string columns.

but this is not doing anything.

please advise me how I can add a purticular action to be performed when a document is opened.

If it doesn't work, you need to post your .qvw file for us to see so we can figure out why yours is not working (there is no reason why it shouldn't work).

Or you can try to create a bookmark which serves the same puropse.

You don't need to make multiple posts to upload a file.  You could have edited your original post or put a new post with the file.  In order to upload, you need to click "Use advanced editor", then there will be a link for attachment at the bottom.
