We have one server setup for QlikView Server. it only has one default access point. Now we have 2 subsidiary companies. Is it possible to have 2 separate access points? so the 2 subsidiary companies will see different contents at first login.
If possible, what's the right way to separate the access points? thanks
I am not sure there is a way to divide your single access point to two.
But you can control who sees what through access point by doing below.
if your authorization is NTFS (Windows controls file access) then you can create a AD group and attach it to the Folder.
if your authorization is DMS (Qlikviewcontrols file access) then you can add users/AD group to the QVW's by going to http://<SERVER>:4780/QMC/UserDocuments.htm. "Click on qlikview file and under "Authorization' tab add the users.
Hi,
Can you do you have publisher?
If yes simply distribute application to required users.
If not then follow Phaneendra Kunche suggestion.

Hi
i would say you cannot split access point in 2 because access point is 1 component coming with QVS. So to have 2 access points you would need 2 QVS : 1 by localisation
But what you can do with only 1 QVS/Access point is to set up security either on folders (NTFS, 1 folder by country and user will access only a specific folder) or by application (login/pwd are required to open qvw)
best regards

Hi,
Take a look at the attached starting at page 9. This is not an official Qlik document so support for setting any of it up will not be supported by Qlik Support.

Thanks very much for everybody's inputs. my objective is to separate the displayed qvw on access points for 2 subsidiary companies. still question like below:
1. As I know, the default qvw file will stay in c:\programdata\QlikTech\SourceDocuments\. If I create 2 folders with AD security assigned, how the web server know which folder to load the qvw files once user login.
2, The suggestion in pdf from Bill is worth a try. need to find more details on setup a QlikView virtual directory.
