Hello People,
It baffles me a lot that the same application on the access point has some disparity in some value when viewed against the desktop application. I read a thread where I would have to delete .Shared files but is to no avail.I think when I reload the the Desktop Application updates whilst the server does not.
Anyone else has a clue or idea of what is happening?
Thanks
hmm what version are you running? And when did you last restart services?
I remember something a while back similar to this and only way to sort it was a restart (typical IT I know). After that we just set a nightly task to restart services
hope that helps
Joe
Section Access may, amongst others, reduce data for you in the AP while in QV Desktop you may be granted access to all of it. Very annoying at times.
Version 11.0.11440.0 and I have restarted more than thrice already.
Hi,
Did you check my suggestion?

hmm I agree with Peter Cammaert then, have a look at your section access. Remember that by default the ACCESS field in section access is set to 'user' in the AP, even though you may specify admin. You'll only be admin on the desktop, so data reduction may still happen to you if the security rights are not set up correctly.
As a test disable the section access and give that a compare between desktop and AP
Hi ASHFAQ
Yes I did
Hi Joe
Yes Peter Cammaert suggestion proved helpful, I disabled the section access and it worked.
Thanks a lot you all
Hi,
Have you considered upgrading to 11.2? There's been improvements regarding how shared files are handled by QV, so it may help with your issue,
regards
That's good maybe have a read of this thread

I think what you have done is not specify all possible values in your section access reduction field so the '*' you have given yourself is only for those values.
eg Region as reduction field has UK,USA,FRA,NZL as possible values.
In your section access you have listed 3 users, 1 with UK, 1 with USA, 1 with FRA and then set yourself as *.
The * will only give you those 3 values (UK,USA,FRA), and not to NZL. The * within section access means, all listed values, not all possible values.
Hope that helps
Joe
