Hi All,
I have one question.
Can we connect to Ms access data files (.mdb files) which is stored in different server. can we get data from different server?
if yes what are the details required to connect to Ms access database?
Thanks,
Ashok.
Install this (either 32-bit or 64-bit version)
and you will be on your way.
Hi,
Use complete UNC path.

Hi Mohammed,
Can u elobrate this clearly.
Thanks,
Ashok.
An UNC path is something like:
\\servername\pathtofiles\database.mdb
Before you can use this kind of path, the database directories must be shared on your network by Windows. See Directory->Properties->Security&Sharing
Hi,
Check the attached file with connecting strings
1st one locally
Second one from shared server.

Tx for ur reply,
for that we need to install Ms office software in both server or only enough in storage server.
example:
server1: having mdb files
server2: reading data from server1. in server2 need to install Ms office or not required.
Thanks,
Ashok.
No need to install MS office
Enough in storage server

Don't consider this as a silly qusetion.
If we don't install in server2 then how we will create connection string because when we connecting through OLE DB it's not showing that option "OLE DB Provider for MS Access".
See below image in server MS Office not installed.
If you're asking this question because otherwise you will not be able to configure an OLEDB/ODBC connection to the MS Access database files, then don't worry. You won't need MS Office anywhere.
The ODBC/OLEDB drivers can be downloaded from the Microsoft download site.
Hi,
Make sure you select force 32 bit.
OLEDB jet 4.0 comes by default.
If not available then go for Microsoft access database engine drivers.
And you don't need office to be installed to make connection.
Have a look at attached image.
All you have to make sure is your storage folder is accessible from Qlikview server.
