I have a container with two charts: Level A and Level B.
I have an additional chart under the container with a button to Cycle between Level A view and Level B. My customer is asking if it is possible that when you select the Chart within the Container for Level A that the lower level filter shows Level A and if you select the Chart within the Container for Level B that the lower level filter shows Level B?
Thanks
I'll work on that.
The charts itself didn't need to be touched unless to limit their max. size which would be else limited through the container. The buttons looked like the container tabs and switch only the variable value which would control the chart visibilty - it's quite the same what the container does. The user won't be notice which objects he/she used - and you avoid all possible problems which occur if you need to access the container-properties.

Hi Cassandra,
I think you might be overly complicating the issue. When any chart has a Group as a dimension, the current choice within the group can be replicated in two ways:
1. If another chart (or even a list box) uses the same Cycle Group, it will automatically show the same selected Dimension as the first group. In other words, Cycle Groups are global - when one chart shows Products, all charts with the same Group will show Products.
2. You can also use the function GetCurrentField() in order to use the name of the currently selected field in an expression.

I get confused - is there only one object (which is in an container - why) and the issue is the cycling group?

There are two charts in the container... one that shows Level A and one that shows Level B.
There is also another chart not in the container with a group for cycling between Level A counts and Level B counts.
I believe with an application, wheter a small test or scrambled live one, we will all better understand
Oleg,
The cycle group is only on the bottom chart - not the charts within the container. I am working on a sample.
Please see attached sample.
thanks - do I understand that if you select the cycle group on the bottom that says Request_ID the chart in the container should show the Project View chart but if you select Program or Portfolio in the cycle group you want the Program & Portfolio view chart in the container to show?
I suppose it should work that way too but the initial request was if you pick Project view, the Cycle should show REQUEST_ID and if you pick the Program and Portfolio view, the Cycle should show Program and Portfolio.
