We have tried to upgrade from Qlikview 9 SR5 to Qlikview 9 SR6. Unfortunately once we have upgraded and restarted the server the Qlikview Server is showing as disconnected in the Qlikview Management Console. Please can you give us guidlines. We are currently re-installing SR5.
Cheers,
Tim
Hi All,
Thank you for you responses.
We have found out the problem. With qlikview 9 SR6 we need to re-apply the licence every time the qlikview server service is re-started. Once the licence is re-applied all is okay.
This is obviously a bug in the ne sr6 release
Cheers,
Tim
To to Administration-program of the server and start the service manually.

Hi Peter,
We have tried this. The service is showing as started. We also tried changing the Log on property for the service but this did not work either.

Tim
hmm -
restart the complete server?
Can recall that we had similar issue, but it was just a matter of starting the service - for whatever reason QV did not run-up automatically.
Peter
Hi Peter,
We restarted the server and this had no effect. I re-loaded qlikview 9 SR5 and this is working perfectly. There must be an issue with SR6.
Cheers,
Tim
Tim,
Can you check the expiry date of AMC? If the date is before the release of the SR6 then the services would not run.
Regards,
Syed
Hi Syed,
I assume you mean the Annual Maintenance Contract. Where would I find this ?
Cheers,
Tim
Try the following:
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
Stop all services except the Qlikview server service in Windows and remove all service_key.txt from all services folders except the QVS. Restart the services from windows services after that. This should solve the issue.
Hi Matt,
Did as you said above. Unable to find service_key.txt file anywhere on server.
