Hi,

I would like to know if UAT Testers would be required Named CALs or Doc CALs to access the application?

It depends on access type.....

For DOC CAL: 1: 1 ration

For Name CAL: 1 : N ration

HI Swaroop,

For UAT also users need a Doc or Named CAL, if a user need access to multiple Dashboards then assign Named CAL otherwise assign a Doc CAL.

Jagan.

Do you have a separate server with a Test licence on it, or are you referring to a separate UAT area on your production server?

They will need a CAL in either environment.  On the test environment though you should have had a number of CALs bundled with the Test Server when you purchased it.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

We are yet to start with installations . yes, We have a separate server with test Server installed. if user need access to multiple Dashboards means referring to 1 QVW? or number of dashboards in one QVW.

Hi Swaroop

One QVW means 1 Document.. I guess, DOC CAL have a max of 3 documents as a CAP... if you want to give more documents to user, then go for Named CAL license

A Document CAL gives one user access to one QVW file, regardless of the number of sheets in that QVW file.  A User CAL gives a user access to as many QVW files as you can create.

One Doc CAL is rights to view one QVW.  There is no limit on how many Doc CALs you can give one user - it just becomes more cost effective to use User CALs above three QVWs.

Thanks for your reply!!!

So for UAT Testers, its fine if we give Doc CALs instead of Named CALs based on requirement.
