Qlikview Data Level Restriction & Security

Hi,

I have Qlikview 10 and server license. So basically I don't have Publisher or AccessPoint.

So what are the options available for me from a security point of view? Can server handle the Data level restriction and security? If yes than how?

Can anyone share a good document which covers all aspects of security in Qlikview 10. I searched it online but could not find a good one.

Thanks,

H

Hi hkgandhi,

Section access is one of the way for security.

eg:

section access:

[ Load * inline

UserID, Password

aaaa,123

bbbb,456

cccc,789

];

Note:

This is the eg for three access and password must be numeric.

Hope its helpful,

Thanks & Regards,

Sri

try to open QV reference manual, on page 515 you will find detail explanation for section access.

for the security throught qv server, you can manage the authentication for user to access. more detailed, on QV server reference manual.

There are several ways to perform basic security:
1. User access (Section Access ) model by name and password or host name (NTNAME). Can do both on the same place..

2. Access to data (Section Aplication ) filtering based on values of a field, for example: a field of sites or Dep. have permission to base on

Can based on Inline or read an external file and maintain, Excel etc.

An Example:

STAR IS *;

Section Access;

LOAD

ACCESS, -------- for reference USER / Admin

NTNAME,

[USERID],

[PASSWORD],

GROUPS

FROM [XXXXXX. USERS);

Section Application;

LOAD

DEPARTMENT,

GROUPS

FROM [XXXXXXXX. DEPARTMENT);

Course can also be based on sheets or objects, etc.

the reference manual is pretty good..
