How do we configure TAC to send emails when jobs do not run at all? Is there a white paper on this?

We had a failure on Sunday and our management is wanting to know why no email was sent. Is there a document at Talend that talks about high level issues and how to configure Talend to send alerts when jobs can't run for any reason?

Is there a heartbeat process or can one be created to externally monitor the systems health to make sure it is functioning properly.

Again, any white paper or case studies would be helpful. We are meeting about this morning. We have a large Pharmaceutical client that wants to know what happened and how we can prevent it.

Thank you,

Michael O'Hara

Hi

The Notifications page allows you to configure alerts based on events. An event can be a user creation or deletion, a task failure or a change in the status of one or more job servers (whether the status changes from up to down or down to up), for more details, please read this documentation.

In the job, you need to use tLogCatcher to capture Java errors thrown during the job execution and log them to a file or DB.
