Restoring lost qliksense server

Hi Friends,

We have recently lost our remote server where we had Qliksense Enterprise installed. Server is not Turning ON due to Hardware/Disk failure. Server was not a VM and we dont have uptodate backups for our Qliksense apps/data/repository.

We are looking for recovery options but not sure whether we will be able to recover everything.

If we are able to recover, What should be our next steps to get our Qliksense working again on a new VM?

Can someone please share step by step process to restore Qliksense in a new machine.

hi @prrajendran

I am very sorry for this problem.
Essentially, you would need to get a backup of the database. Maybe you generated one when the server was still working.
If you have it, you just need to install Qlik Sense on another machine and restore the backup.

If you have never generated a backup, I think you can only try to find your apps (QVF files) and then import them in a new installation of Qlik Sense, but you will need to recreate the users and the configuration.

First, try recovering the repository database, apps, and shared folders from the failed server. If recovery succeeds, install the same Qlik Sense Enterprise version on the new VM, restore the certificates, repository database, and app data, then reconnect all services carefully. Also verify licenses and service accounts. Going forward, set up regular automated backups and preferably move Qlik Sense to a VM environment for easier disaster recovery and maintenance.
