What are statistics?

Hello,

I have a small question.

I saw that it's possible to run job from the studio and disable the statistics. Actually, I had to disable it because I have several issues due to firewalls and communications from the job servers.

My question is : what am I disabling ? What does the statistics offers ?

Do you have any documentation about it.

not sure - do You need it or not, I stop use it because - never use this information, errors logs - yes, log4j on TAC - YES!!!, but stats files - not

sure, it useful for some fine tuning, but not always needed
