https://help.qlik.com/en-US/alerting/October2021/Content/QlikAlerting/install-configure.htm#connect

post installation of alerting should we start configuring from QMC or configure alerting to an QMC. If we have to start configuring from Alerting to QlikSense what will be the login user and password

Note, it is never advised to install Alerting on the same server as Qlik Sense, this is a problematic and unreliable deployment and the best solution is to have Qlik Alerting running on its own dedicated server.

"post installation of alerting should we start configuring from QMC or configure alerting to an QMC"
No, the Qlik Alerting for Windows configuration is done in the browser with its own URL.

From the documentation:
"Access Qlik Alerting through the browser on the server, use http://localhost:4551 or https://localhost:4552 for the initial setup. You can also access the server from your desktop browser if you have setup the appropriate firewall and server DNS details."

"what will be the login user and password"
Well during configuration there will be 2 values needed here, the Qlik Sense user required for configuring the connection to Qlik Sense.

Again, the documentation provides guidance on the requirements here:
"Ensure this user is a root admin in Qlik Sense or a user who can access all users, tasks, and apps. This user must also have a valid license in Qlik Sense."

And then there will be the user that is chosen to be the Qlik Alerting administrator at the end of the configuration.

Review the documentation on this step, but I can tell you an initial password will be emailed to the Admin user. So the Email server config must succeed and confirm you can receive emails from Qlik Alert because this is the only way the passwords are changed or distributed.

Regards,
Nick
