4 Fiscal Quarter trailing with Dynamic Quarter start and end

Could somebody please help with the following formular:

"rangesum( above ( sum([Sales PEB At Current Year Plan Rate]),0,4) ,FQ)"

I use for 4 Fiscal Qtr trailing and it works fine, but I want to control/manage the start and end of the trailing...

so start with exclude current Qtr (= current -1) and end when less then 4Qtr remain

is this dynamic start and end for trailing doable? If so how should the formular look like?
