I have created multiple tasks in QlikView using QMC. I would like to set up an email notification so that if any task fails, an email is sent to the respective owner along with the error details.
Currently, I have around 100 tasks scheduled to run daily. However, only 10 of these tasks are critical. I want to configure the system so that email notifications are triggered only if any of these 10 important tasks fail. For the remaining tasks, no email notification should be sent if they fail.
Could you please suggest the steps or approach to achieve this requirement?
Maybe it is not the fanciest solution, but I remember in my times with QlikView that I used a self-made app to send this kind of email.
First, you create a QV empty app, open it in desktop, go to Tools -> Alerts and configure the email you want to send there.
Second, in the QMC, simply you add a task for this app to be triggered if the critical one fails.
In this way, every time the critical task fails, this app will be refreshed and you will receive the email alerting you.
Repeat the process for all the tasks you need.
Kind Regards
Daniel
Another approach might be to filter the mails on the exchange/client-side by adding appropriate rules against the subject/body-content.
