Hello Qlik Community,
My apologies if there are solved posts on this topic, I didn't find any similar issues from my various Google queries.
The utility I am trying to provide is to give users the ability to select filters from 2-5 alternate states and to show overlapping customer/purchase IDs in the venn diagram when applicable e.g. user filters State 1 (S1) to include all LEASE and SALE vehicles for manufacturer CASE and for State 2 they select all Small Tractors – the desired end result would be a large circle encompassing all LEASE and SALE purchase IDs and a smaller circle with all Small Tractor purchase IDs with a small overlap in the middle showing the union of all SALE and LEASE type purchases for Small Tractors. This viz needs to be dynamic to allow users to filter by other attributes such as year of sale, product type, manufacturer, sale type, new or used product, etc.
In this way, the alternate state would almost behave as a dimension itself.
I was hoping that somebody had a need for something like this in the past and that Vizlib would have some sort of functionality that would allow users to compare alternate states in the same chart object, but I’m not seeing any ways past the limitation to one state set in the “Alternate States” menu.
If anyone has ideas on how I could bypass this "Alternate States" menu in the Vizlib/baked in visualizations or knows of any plug-ins that might solve this problem, please do let me know!
Thanks,
Nick
