Please clarify the steps you take before the issue occurs.

How far in the app creation process do you get?

Do you enter a name for the app?

Does the issue occur when you attempt to open the newly created app?

What version of Qlik Sense are you running? This detail can be found in the Hub > Menu > About...

Hi Toni

I enter a name for the app and when I hit return the error message appears.

I'm using version 1.0

Dear Greg,

Instead pressing "return" can you hit "create" with your mouse? Also, I just want to make sure " return" key is only on MACs keyboards, are you using a MAC and have QlikSense installed on a Parallels or VM?

Hi Gio

I get the same error when clicking create with mouse. I’m not using a MAC.

Greg,

thanks! Well the only thing I can think of is that "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps" folder has some sort of right problem, can you check is you have full rights from parent folders to child folders.

Thanks Gio

I have checked in this folder for my username and there is no Apps folder. There is one when I look in this folder as administrator rather than my username. The software was installed by our IT guys logged in as administrator.

Greg,

Maybe that could be the issue, probably your account has no right to write on the "administrator" account. I would guess thats the difference that it works at your home machine and not in your office machine. Can you ask your IT to installed it under your account.

In my case I was dealing with Qlik Sense Server, so rules could interfere.

I had disabled the default Security Rule called "CreateApp",

After re-enabling it, I could create the app:
