Then you have to fix it there. There is saying that fits quite well: garbage in - garbage out.
So this isn't a problem with qlik and can't be fixed within qlik.
(except you can reenginieer which codepage format conflict came from the DB and than replace the format codes like "&e" and "e;" with the real symbols)

1. Are you loading from a Escel/ CSV or form a database conection?
2. Often the codepage problem already occurs in the data source, Please check if the data source display the correct values.
