Base Memory size is zero for most apps in QMC apps section

Hi,

Since May 2023 there is a column in the apps section in QMC called  "Base Memory size  (MB)". The value is however zero for most apps, even if they have been reloaded multiple times.

What is needed for calculating "Base Memory size (MB)" for all apps?

This column is populated when the app is reloaded from the QMC

The in-memory file size of the app. The value is updated when the app is reloaded.

The difference between this value and File size (MB) is that the base memory size also includes visualizations, bookmarks, measures, etc, from the QVF file.

I would say that all apps in my screenshot are reloaded on schedule. Do I have to reload them manually in QMC?

Exactly, that is why I am so interested in the in-memory file size of the app (which I am currently not getting for the majority of my apps, hence my question).

I know that's what the doc says. But it does not match the numbers I see. The filesize matches the disk physical storage size when the app is exported. And base memory size is the memory size after the app is loaded to memory.

My apps loaded on-schedule do show a base memory value. Not sure what is different about yours.

Yes, that is really strange. I am trying to narrow it down. I doesn't seem to be related to:

  • App size on disk
  • App owner
  • Reloading node
  • Consumer node
  • If the reloading node differs from the consumer node

Could there be a limit for how big the app can be in memory for this to be calculated?

FYI, I have the same issue, all my tasks are triggered via EDX, you can see here a sample of some of them where base memory is updated or still to 0. This sounds a bit random.

Any news to this topic?

It would be interesting to know if this is working as designed (not calculated for larger apps), if it is a matter of configuration (QMC, settings files etc) or if it is a bug.
