I am upgrading from 3.2 to the April 2018 version of Qilk Sense. I have a map chart that is setting each state by a color using an expression of the total balance for that state. In the old version there is a place to a Label for this where I was able to write in Principal Gross Balance.
After doing the upgrade, the legend still says “Principal Gross Balance” but it is cutoff so I would like to edit it to some smaller text so that it can be properly seen. But I can’t even find where the label is being defined on the chart in the new version. In the two screen shots you will notice that there is no area to type in a Label for the coloring expression.
Thank you,
Brian
May be, add the names of the States as a dimension and then used the coordinates as the location.
Hi Bala,
Thanks for your response. I have my "Location Field" set as "area" which is a field that contains my longitude and latitude for each state. I tried changing the dimension from "State" (which is the abbreviation) to "NAME" which is the full length value for a U.S. state name. This doesn't appear to change anything.
In the new version, it appears that there are settings for the overall map chart and then specific settings for each layer. The screenshots I attached in my first message were from the specific settings of the one layer I have. If I look at the overall settings of the chart, I can go under Appearance -> Legend and see an option to move the legend to different positions. It doesn't let me edit the Legend title name and I can't put it in a proper spot for it the title to not appear cutoff. Please see below. Am I missing something on this tab for editing the Legend name?
Instead of trying to update this chart from the old version, I tried to recreate the chart from scratch. I created a new Map chart with an area layer and set the same conditions. After I added in my custom expression for the colors the legend appeared but it just has the title of "Color expression". Please see below. Where can I update this title?
Thank you,
Brian
