Drop down menu

By default the drop down menu should not have any values in it .And when I select any value in drop down menu it should display the student details in a tab.Is it possible to do in qlik sense?

By drop down you mean, filter pane?
They will always have no selection unless you select the option "Always one selected value".
Once a value is selected you can display it in other objects using GetFieldSelections function.

If it does not address your issue, please give us an example of your requirement.

By dropdown, I mean the extension (Field UI) we use to get the interface of a dropdown. By default ,it must not show anything and the charts and corresponding tables related to student should be empty and once when I select the select name from dropdown it should display the charts and other stuff
