Filter Performance

My users are experience slow performance when they are typing in a value in one of the filters on the sense  application.

The user will type in a value, but nothing happens.  There is around 2.6 million rows for that field.  When I look at the performance monitor while I simulate what the user is doing, the CPU utilization is around 40% and Memory utilization is around 60%.

Server has 4 cpu and 32gb

Any quick suggestions before I ask for a larger box?

Perhaps you can make users make some selections in other fields first to narrow things down.
